The progression of a Harley

Last week I made a sculpture of 1991 Harley Custom Softail. I snapped some pics of it with my Palm Pre as I went.

not much yet..

Starting on a '91 softail

the Evo is in the frame, the tank is on, and the forks are attached..

Custom softail taking shape...

the rear wheel is on as well as the rest of the frame...

More softail progress...

rear fender and seats are in place...

More softail progess, fenders and seats on...

next is the exhaust...

The exhaust is on....

front fender, headlight, handlebars, ballgame.

Just gotta clean it up and clear it.....

The Dog Pound

I was out in the shop on Wednesday and didn't feel like getting involved in a long project, so I decided to build some metal mutts. Each one is different, and I try to give them each their own personality. Naming them is harder than welding them together!

Alaska Mission Bicycle

My wife's cousin Jesse Boyd is a missionary who is currently biking his way to northern Alaska. To commemorate the trip, I was asked to build two sculptures of his bike.

Take a look at his website for some amazing pictures and crazy stories!
